Can I use canvas for tufting?

Using canvas is very possible to cause damage to your gun, especially if it's already gessoed or painted over. From what I know about canvas, the weave is probably too small to allow the gun to move through it. I could maybe see it working if you use monks cloth on a smaller frame stretched really tight, tufted first, then gessoed/painted on second.

Suggest to tuft on primary tufting cloth, which is designed for tufting!
