Can I wind 2 strands of yarn at the same time for tufting?

 I see people winding one skein/strand at a time and I'm thinking it'd be better to do two skeins/strands at a time because I tuft with 2 strands.

Winding two strands causes them to twist around each other. The twists do not travel through the gun needle so they build up more and more between the ball of yarn and the gun until there’s a jam.

Don’t wind two strands together, rather wind two separate balls of yarn.
