Is It Necessary To Have An Acrilic Guide With The Tufting Shaver?

, I don't think it's "fundamental" but in practice it helps a lot whether you are already an expert Tufter or not. Having an guide helps you be more precise in cutting everything to the same level. With the guide at least on the level you will have fewer worries. I recommend the purchase, although not essential, but I recommend it. If you buy it, I recommend the one that attaches to the head, not the "classic" one that screws onto the shaver handle. More practical in attaching and removing it. I own the classic one but I'm considering buying the other one.

, They are basically just training wheels for trimming. Get the guide as a newbie so you don’t ruin your first few rugs beyond repair. Once you start to understand things like pressure and depth of cut, then you can slowly work your way off using it.

, I do notice a lot of the professional people using it as it is definitely much quicker when you can just glide over the top without worrying too much and work in bulk.

, You can never have too many tools at your disposal.

, I have a screw in one. I find that the vibration moves the trimmer within the guide, and I get different levels of trim, so i don't like to use it. Even on larger rugs I find it easier to just go by hand.

, You'll be far less frustrated if you do. Buy the clip in one not the screw on one.
