How To Conjoined Tufted Rugs?

1, The first issue is measuring all your pieces just right when you are using your projector and trying to draw your design. The second issue was trying to sow the two pieces together, for me it was difficult (and was not getting paid enough for the rug anyway) So I just went ahead and glued both parts together with cold silicone glue. I had left an extra piece of cloth on one of the rugs to glue onto the other from underneath. And then I glued on a line of that cotton cloth I use for backing the edges (the one in the picture) on top of where I glued both rugs together. Also I thought if I sowed the two pieces together it wouldn’t be solid enough and that I would probably have to glue them as well for the rugs not to move around if the sowing came loose. Theres was lots to think about. But if you're getting paid good money than its worth putting in the time. Wish you luck on your challenge!

2, I haven’t used it but there is such a thing as carpet joining tape. I’d use that or do the overlap glue before finishing the rug with felt. Some people use a secondary mesh fabric whilst glueing so that could be worth trying too before applying the final backing.

3, I wonder if gluing one large felt piece after sewing the back overhang pieces together. So at least the felt is one solid piece and glued all together.  I was thinking of leaving excess canvas and conjoin that. And then do one big piece of felt to secure everything and then the backing.
