How to deal with the fiber dust when tufting?

There are some suggestions for you, and welcome to share your solutions!

1,The jist of it is that i bought a durable plastic sheeting and some velcro, and i adhere the sheet to the back of the frame while i'm tufting. The yarn fibers get trapped between the frame and the sheet, and you can peel back the sheet anytime to vacuum or trim the other side. Makes a huge difference while tufting.

2,Run a humidifier when you are tufting. Turn it on before you start for at least a half hour. Turn it on even when it's humid. Completely eliminated the issue for me.

3,Wearing a half mask respirator and buy a hepa filter as well. PPE is important.

4,A dedicated space for tufting where you don't have to worry about pets or children. And try to vacuum between bits of tufting.

5,Use air purifier.

6,With acrylic yarns too it is literally microplastics you’re inhaling. Masks, eye protection, a well ventilated area where you can contain as much of the fibre/glue fumes et. as possible is really importan.
