How to Tuft A Pillow Case?

I tuft like normal, tufting a little extra 1/4” around the edges for seam allowance.

Cut the monks cloth off the frame.

Back it with some kind of adhesive/iron on interfacing- NOT Roberts carpet glue.

Then sew inside out, ON that 1/4” tufted area. That way you won’t see monks cloth around the edges of your pillow. This is very thick but your machine shouldn’t have issues going through it.

Snip the corners, and trim away excess.

Flip right side out and voilà.

I do an envelope pillowcase so it’s easy to slip in the pillow insert.
