I Put A Big Hole In My Rug. How Do I Fix It?

Oops, a problem happened when tufting, a hole appeared on the beautiful rug.

Solution idea1: It can be saved and work out just fine. I’ve done it before. Just sew it up with thread. Making stitches wider than the tear. If some adhesive like the gorilla spray and then the normal adhesive backing as normal.

Solution idea2: There is a few ways of doing it. I think the best way of doing it is leave it alone when you get to the end and you put your backing on you’re gonna take the yarn wrap it up on your fingers the same way it wraps up into the canvas itself, put a tiny bit of hot glue in that area and stuff it with the yarn and then you can cut it and that’s how you patch it. The other way is to grab a piece of fabric and you’re gonna use the same colors and you gotta tie it down all the way aroundand then you can do it right in the center.

Solution idea3: From some of the patches I see, I seen make a patch on the side , when finish . Cut it out with extra cloth, place it in the hole glue the extra cloth to the back of the rug , cut the excess off you don’t need and once carve it’ll blend in .

Solution idea4: I’d say finish it and maybe try stitching it together by hand at end might be savable.

Solution idea5: Patch it with another piece of cloth on the back and tuft them together that saved mines. That happened to me when I used cloth that wasn't tufting but was similar and bought it to save money. Learned my lesson.

Solution idea6: Make a new rug! Sad to say there's no fixing that. Especially if you see how weak the fabric is in surrounding areas. Sorry this happened. More even pressure with the tufting gun and super tight fabric will help next time.

What do you think of these ideas? Hopefully it will be useful for you tufters. And good luck!
