Can you use cotton for tufting?
For fabric, the primary tufting cloth is made form cotton an polyester blend, and it is suitable for tufting. But pure cotton fabric are not recommendded for tufting, because it's too soft to tuft on.
For yarns, acrylic or wool, 2 strands, which is greate for tufting.Not recommend to use cotton yarn for floor rug, tufted cotton doesn’t do well with wear and tear. Sometimes cotton fiber yarns tend to be difficult to cut with household tufting guns and may cause the tufting gun to break down.
