How To Prevent Ripping/Cutting Canvas When Tufting?
Share
1,Based on your lines, it looks like your kind of pushing the gun upwards rather than letting it walk up the fabric on its own. Also make sure your fabric is nice & tight. Same thing happens to me when my cloth is loose.
2,Slow down the speed of the gun maybe, also I usually have this happen if im applying too much pressure and the scissors go in too deep and cut a piece of canvas or push it through the other side.
3,It's important to keep the gun parallel to the fabric.
4,Important to also consider the ply of your yarn, if you are using 6-8 ply, it’s good to pack super tight, but if you’re using 10-12 ply, it’s better space your lines out about 3 threads between each tufted line.
5,You are pulling you TG out before the scissors are even done cutting, slow down a bit
tightening your cloth could help a lot as well
6,It's in your angle and make complete contact, you can only go forward.
