How To Tuft The Finer Details?

, Sometimes I did 3 strands and closer tufts to fill the space better. Trimming can be a bit difficult, but if you take your time and separate the colors, it'll work out. Also I personally like to trim each color, but sometimes for a more blended look you can just trim level.

, Curving into thin tufted areas or small detailed areas are the hardest to shape due to the colors mixing or being to thin to find in the colors around. So what helped me was when I had to get tight details I tuft with one string so to keep from over crowding colors. And when carving in those areas I use scissors not the clippers. But definitely as you can see some mistakes were made and everything on the back of the rug doesn’t show perfectly on the other. Also working the shaping after tufting on the frame is hard but works wonders. Hopes this helps.

, Doubling up on your outlines and making sure when you are filling in areas you are alway going the same direction whether that be horizontally or vertically just always try and have your fill in traveling the same way.

, If you have a more linear rug, work on the lines first then fill around them.
