How to tuft the glow in the dark rugs?

They don’t actually sell glow in the dark yarn like this on the regular at most craft stores, and if they do they’re extremely small skeins and polyester, which is a bitch to tuft AND carve with. Polyester yarn will dull your scissors, so be weary. If you want glow in the dark, you can find skeins on some shopping websites. Just again be aware it’s typically polyester which I personally stay away from.

What you can experiment with is A. Bright neon colors- neon colors are already UV reactive under black light. Ever notice how when you walk into a bar or party wearing something neon pink or orange you glow? Should be the same with yarn. B. Make your own glow yarn using dye. This requires you to soak your skeins and then let them air dry. Then of course you wind them into cakes. I hear the texture of the acrylic changes a tiny bit, but I think it would be fun to experiment with various glow in the dark colors and color changing dye!
