Why Tufting Gun Chopping Up yarns Sometimes?

1, Could be the threader hole got loose and is too small so it’s putting tension on the yarn.

2, The yarn is too tight in the roll pull some slack and run your gun you will see a difference.

3, Mine did this when my scissors were blunt, could that be a potential issue for you?

4, As in not sharp - sometimes if they’re older or have been used heaps, you have to either sharpen them or replace them. From what I’ve seen online, replacement tufting gun scissors fairly cheap online.

5,It can happen if you are trying to force the gun along the like. A good test is to find a place on your fabric not part of your design and tuft a line one handed. Tufting one handed only allows you to use forward pressure. If the line is clean the you are pushing the gun with your guide hand.

Here are some advice for you:

1. oil the moving parts
2. use low low speed
3. press the gun against the canvas
4. make sure canvas is tight
5. just clicking button, not continous
